COBRA radar, the partner of the CAESAR gun

Following the success of our 1/87 scale model of the TRM 10000 COBRA, Promodels has taken on a new challenge: the creation of a PPLOG IVECO equipped with COBRA radar, a combination never before seen in 1/48 scale with this level of detail and precision.

For this exceptional model, our teams have rethought every detail in order to accurately reproduce the unique look of this vehicle.

Two versions to satisfy all expectations
In order to meet all requirements, this model will be available in a road version (radar folded) and a work version (radar deployed), offering a spectacular and original representation of this weapon system. With its imposing dimensions and unparalleled level of detail, this model promises to become a must-have for military model enthusiasts.

A tribute to French engineering
With this model, we want to showcase the expertise of our manufacturers and pay tribute to the expertise of French and European defense players, while serving as a technical support for professionals in the sector.

This project is an opportunity to strengthen the links between model enthusiasts and industry experts, around an object that combines precision, innovation, and technical heritage.

This trajectory radar can locate enemy batteries in real time at a distance of up to 100 km when connected to the ATLAS system.
This type of radar can detect the point of departure of shots as well as their arrival points, for up to 40 batteries simultaneously.
To prevent the radars themselves from being detected, they are linked to another system called SL2A (acoustic artillery location system).

The radar, integrated into a technical shelter mounted on a fully autonomous Renault Trucks TRM 10000 truck, consists of:
- A detection system comprising a flat erectile antenna with an active module
- An operating cabin
- A generator supplying power to the system
- A gyrolaser inertial navigator
The technical shelter is protected against battlefield debris.

COBRA (COunter Battery RAdar) is a counter-battery radar system developed jointly by Thales, Airbus Defence and Space, and Lockheed Martin for the French, British, and German armed forces.

In its non-NATO export version, it has been significantly improved in terms of performance and design, while retaining its basic characteristics. It is marketed by Euro-Art International EWIV, a joint venture between HENSOLDT and THALES.

Given the age of the Renault TRM 10000, the PPLOG is becoming the new carrier for the COBRA radar, which is due to complete its renovation program this year.

This radar is deployed in Lebanon and one unit has been sent to Ukraine.
