Model tank AMX 30 B2 Daguet 1991
The AMX 30 B2 Daguet tank in the battle !
On February 24, 1991, the 4th Dragoons, tank regiment, was launched towards its objective "AS Salman" village north of Iraq.
Integrated into the Daguet Division, it will control the vicinity of its objective as early as 2:00 PM on February 25...
The AMX30 B2 "112" was part of this operation!

Given the context of this glorious page of our military history, it was necessary to make this model as "warlike" as possible.
Here is therefore the photo of the real tank at scale 1, followed by photos of its "replica" at 1/48.
There are many photos of these tanks that participated in the battles of February 1991; I therefore drew my ideas for modifications from many photos found on the internet and various magazines.

Promodels mockups an undeniable asset for your strategy
For this miniature, I went even further with the patina, detail markings, accessories, various scratches and stains, and added a new camouflage stripe.

The AMX 30 B2 Daguet tank by GIAT Industries / Nexter
The AMX 30 upgrade program was adopted in June 1979 and was indeed necessary given the technological advancements in combat tanks, particularly in sighting systems with laser rangefinders, electronic calculators, and low-light television. The first series AMX 30 B2 tanks were received by the 503rd R.C.C. in January 1982 and underwent an accelerated aging program to detect any potential early-life issues. In 1991, the 4th Regiment of Dragoons deployed around forty AMX 30 B2 tanks within the "Daguet" Division.

In terms of firepower, the AMX-30B2's was significantly increased with the ability to fire the APDSFS arrow shell, along with the firing control COTAC, which gave it a 90% first-round hit probability at 2000 meters.
For mobility, the AMX-30B2 received a multi-fuel engine and a semi-automatic mechanical transmission with electro-hydraulic controls and hydrostatic steering.

The model proposed in the Master Fighter range is very realistic and includes all the details specific to the version used during Operation Daguet. In addition to the skirts, rarely used in operations, one can notice the 20 mm ammunition boxes and the lateral platforms on each side of the turret, mounted exclusively during this operation.
